OUR WORK
Building Pathways Out of Poverty
We empower low-income women in Nigeria who face significant barriers to accessing formal financial services. Our focus is on supporting marginalized women, including entrepreneurs, caregivers, traders, artisans, and other informal workers who demonstrate remarkable resilience and resourcefulness despite their exclusion from formal financial systems. We provide financial solutions and tools to help these women overcome poverty and achieve economic stability.
Despite their efforts, many Nigerian women remain stuck in a cycle of poverty and inequality. They lack access to tailored financial services, skills development opportunities, and strategies for long-term financial security. We help because financial inclusion is not just an economic imperative; it is a matter of social justice and human dignity. Women have the right to equal access to economic opportunities, resources, and services. When they are equipped to grow, they invest in their families, strengthen their communities, and drive national development.
We meet women where they are and provide them with the tools they need to rise. This includes financial literacy and business training tailored to their realities; access to a wide range of financial products and services; and a network of like-minded mentors and peers. We also work to influence policies, regulatory frameworks, and norms that affect women’s financial access so that the financial ecosystem prioritizes women’s inclusion.
“Before Her Advantage, I was part of a local women’s savings group, but we didn’t have access to anything beyond what we contributed weekly. The training I received changed how I manage money and run my small food business. The loan helped me expand, and now I can support my children better. For the first time, I feel like I’m truly building something for myself and my family.”
